Another shaking ...

Well my Mom was visiting for the Easter weekend and we gave her a spare beesuit and involved her in the weekend inspection in our garden.  We had to remove the queen excluder from below the colony on which we had done the "shook swarm" last week, give the sugar treatment to two hives and do another shook swarm.  So, she got a good look into the hives, saw each of the queens and witnessed a range of beekeeping activities - all in our back garden on a sunny afternoon.  And - a bonus - we are sending her home with a jar of honey taken from the stores at the corner of the brood frames removed during last week's shook swarm.
