Not another out-apiary?

Ever since we first talked about spreading out from our own back yard and found ourselves a possible out-apiary, we seem to have stumbled over more opportunities for spreading ours, and our bees' wings.  We really must decide what our limit will be.  At this rate our second year beekeeping could see us spread across half a dozen sites.

Last weekend we had a call from someone who asked us to consider keeping bees on their land, not that far from our bees at The Rectory.  So, today we went over to take a look.  Everywhere's a bit bleak with the remains of the snow right now but it could be an interesting spot, right in amongst organic farmland.

But it opens up all sorts of questions for us not least of which is about how serious we are about this, how much time we really can devote to it and how we plan to fund such a rapid growth should we go for it.  Tomorrow we have planned an equipment "sorting" day and will be cleaning up hives, checking what we need to buy in to be ready with enough frames and foundation and making ready for the season.  Well, that's not a bad time to also get our vision in check for the season and agree what we are able to take on - and at what cost.
